Frequently asked questions
What CaN I EXPECT on my first day?
You will meet with Dr. Davis and discuss your symptoms and main concerns and will review your medical, psychiatric, and family history. Together you will explore treatment options including the option for psychotropic medications and, if needed, Dr. Davis will send prescriptions to your pharmacy and/or make referrals for additional treatments.
If your appointment is via telehealth, you will receive an email prior to your appointment that you will simply log-in with and meet with Dr. Davis. Mountain View Psychiatry uses a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform for the telemedicine appointments, so you can be rest-assured that your visit will be private.
Prior to your first appointment, you will receive an email with access to your patient portal. On the patient portal, you will complete your paperwork online, including an intake form.
What are the costs?
The initial visit consists of a full, comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and is typically 90 minutes and costs $350 for this visit. The subsequent follow-up visits are typically 30 minutes and cost $150 per visit.

Alternatively, you can always call or text us for assistance.
What is the process for adjusting or changing my medication?
From time to time, medications may require adjustments in dosage or timing or you may need a different medication. Everyone is different and we are here to help. We can help via phone or using the patient portal to address any concerns you may have. Alternatively, we can reschedule your visit for further evaluation and discussion.
What should I do if I experience side effects?
Side effects may vary and some may go away over time, while other side effects may continue. If the side effect is undesireable and unlikely to resolve on its own, a medication change may be advisable. Other times, adjusting the medication dose, timing, or frequency can result in improvement in the side effects. If you are experiencing side effects, please reach out via phone or the patient portal messaging system so Dr. Davis can help discuss the best course of action.
